KREWELIVERPOOL: THE MARDI GRAS EXPERIENCE

In Feb 2020 LB and Mellowtone joined forces to create a surreal masquerade ball at Sefton Parks iconic Palm House. This was a city wide collaboration bringing creativity from all corners of Liverpool from Mersey swing, Movema, Invisible Wind Factory , Harlequin Dynamiotes, Joe Farrag and more, featuring New Orleans band Frog and Henry.

KAZIMIER KRUNK BAND

In house carnival techno band of The Kazimier club.

A self-amplified dance orchestra of the people, The Krunk Band rarely performed on a stage, preferring instead to mingle among the crowds. With trumpeting fanfares and bish-bash-bosh percussion, you might hear some 19th century cancans from a souked-up barrel organ or an accordion-led tribute to a 90s dance classic.  Performed across Europe and the UK including Glastonbury Festival.

Core members:  Raph Goldacre, Sam Crombie, Laurie Crombie, Laura Brownhill, Laura spark, Hollie Coleman, Lucy Mercer, Simon Knighton

SOUND BATTLE

A 2014 Open Culture street performance commission for Light Night in collaboration with The Harlequin Dynamite Marching Band, composer Simon Knighton, designer Hannah Bitowski and light technician Charlie Pethica, designed to mark the centenary of WW1.

An audio-visual choreographed battle using sound to light technology to produce a sensory, dazzling piece to envelop the audience.

Two opposing sides, one with heavy rhythmical drums, megaphonic vocals and synth, verses melodic brass, vocals and percussion.

Clad in "dazzle" camouflage 3D uniforms, the players move in choreographed formations in order to create visual illusions of a travelling warship.
